Learn About SERT Training
Wisconsin SERT training is hands-on, scenario-driven, and taught by working EMS professionals. Students learn the same core skills used by first responders — and put them into practice in realistic team-based simulations.

What Students Learn
A complete emergency response skill set — mapped to AHA, FEMA, and Stop the Bleed curricula.
CPR & AED
High-quality chest compressions, rescue breathing, and automated defibrillator use for adult, child, and infant patients — aligned with American Heart Association standards.
Bleeding Control
Direct pressure, wound packing, and tourniquet application. Students train on Stop the Bleed protocols used by EMS and law enforcement nationwide.
Splinting & Bandaging
Immobilizing suspected fractures, applying pressure bandages, and stabilizing soft-tissue injuries with the supplies actually available in a school setting.
Patient Assessment
Primary and secondary assessment, vital signs, SAMPLE history, and identifying life-threats — the foundation of every emergency response.
Spinal Immobilization
Backboarding, cervical collar application, and coordinated multi-rescuer patient moves. Students learn to protect suspected spinal injuries safely.
Team Response & Triage
Working as a coordinated response team, communicating under pressure, and using START triage during multi-patient incidents.
Scenario Simulations
Full-scale, moulaged simulations run by EMS professionals — from single-patient calls to mass-casualty exercises with transport.
Leadership & Confidence
Every session builds decision-making, calm-under-pressure, and the confidence students need to act when it matters most.
